Titre J. Beakerdram Poems c. 1950s-1960s.

Written under the pseudonym Titre J. Beakerdram, these four typed poems are student commentary on faculty and coursework in the MUSC College of Pharmacy during the late 1950s and 1960s. The author was a student, whose name is not known. His poems are pointedly critical of College of Pharmacy Professor J. Hampton Hoch for his teaching practices and treatment of students. Poems are titled: Student Life, Ode to Donald S., Ah! Bitter Fate, and untitled.

J. Hampton Hoch was born in Philadelphia on September 20, 1904 to Quintus and Irene E. Buss Hoch. He was graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, from which he later earned his Masters of Science and Doctor of Science degrees. He came to the Medical College of the State of South Carolina in 1927, rising through the ranks to the level of full professor in 1937.
